National Fried Chicken Festival 2017

Our flagship event started in 2016 as a simple phrase: "Everybody Loves Fried Chicken". We focused on the food, the people who love the food, and the soul that surrounds us in New Orleans to create the ultimate festival experience that resonates from coast to coast. In just two years, our team of event experts has grown the event into the largest food festival in Louisiana — a state that has on average 1 festival every 3 days.

Scope

  • Increase the festival’s footprint by 500,000 square feet by relocating from Lafayette Square to Woldenberg Riverfront Park
  • Rebrand the Fried Chicken Festival as the “National” Fried Chicken Festival
  • Expand the festival from one to two days to meet the demand of attendees
  • Increase the number of vendors by including notable restaurants from around the nation
  • Offer more activities and entertainment with the main stage for live music, a DJ stage, another stage for cooking demonstrations, a Football Fan Zone and a children’s area
  • Implement a 'Pay it Forward' tent to donate to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma
